In the wake of yet another mass shooting, president Trump has mobilized the National Guard to go to the suburbs where these shooters usually come from, authorized the FBI to go after white nationalist extremist groups online, and improved background check requirements.
Of course that's a joke.
In the wake of yet another mass shooting, Trump again sends tots and pears
and continues mobilizing the full force of the federal government against Black and brown people, in an attempt to make our lives worse.
Of course, that's not a joke.

I would be curious to see how they'd react to being asked if the National Guard will be sent to "do anything" about mass shootings.
Because if one guy getting beat up is a national emergency for the capital then what is this? What is it?

Maybe I'm feeling some kind of way because we just did all of our drills and preparation for "emergencies" for school. We discussed how to keep six year olds calm in a lock down and what you should say to students who want to text their parents in such a situation. (yes, text them but please don't give our location. Say you are fine and it's OK to say who else is fine, but just say you are in lock down and not more)
Isn't that fun?

We practice what to do a few times each year. And I'm glad that we do but I hate it.
