he inhabits that space of just-edgy-enough contrarianism against any political attitude on the spectrum as long as it maximizes clicks and eyes and ears

I have been trying to think of a counter-example but I think DJT only ever uses the insult "low IQ individual" for Black people. Mostly Black women.
Though if anyone could point out when he's used it about someone who isn't Black, I'd be happy to know, mostly because I'd be curious about what it would take for him to do that.

There are people who have some racist notions because it's almost impossible not to when living in our culture. THEN there are people who are fundamentally unable to see Black people as equal beings, these people will never really see or hear you if your are Black and DJT is, I suspect, in this category.
They have been purging women and black people from leadership positions all over the government.
The only black people he will tolerate are comically sycophantic.
