41 years old
Which is 24 years younger than the oldest plane I flew in this year, a DHC Otter in Vancouver
Yeah, I'm guessing it was AI slop. So I blocked the site
I believe there are C-47s (Gooney Birds) and DC-3s still in military and commercial service, which were old when I was a kid in the 1960s.
I've never flown in one though. They say it's an experience, but for most of them I'd be worried about who was doing the maintenance on 80 and 90 year old airframes.

I was reading something recently that the USAF currently plans to keep the B-52 fleet flying into the 2050s by which time most of them would be over 100 years old. The youngest are all over 60 years old as it is.

@helvick @jackwilliambell To be fair so much has been updated on those that they're almost the Ship of Theseus
@bellinghman @helvick @jackwilliambell
I seem to remember some story, probably apocryphal, about an Air Force sergeant in charge of maintaining the same B-52 as his grandfather.

I worked on B52s when I was in the USAF in the late 1970s. I have grandkids today old enough to join up. So I can see it would be possible.

Found the article, but it’s unclear if it’s the same B-52.
B-52 pilot is flying plane his father and grandfather flew before him
The 28-year-old pilot is the third generation to fly the half-century-old aircraft and an $11.9 billion upgrade could see a few more generations of Welsh pilots sit in the cockpit yet.
