There is a voice in my head that keeps saying "There is a concentration camp in the swamps of Florida." When I'm shopping for groceries.

@timo21 @futurebird Yeah, who pocketed this quarter billion dollars?
-
@lori @timo21 @futurebird the article names several companies ..
The largest single contract, at $78.5 million: Jacksonville based Critical Response Strategies which is responsible for hiring corrections officers, camp managers and IT personnel.
Longview Solutions Group was awarded $25.6 million for site preparation and construction
IT company Gothams has a $21.1 million contract to provide access badges and detainee wristbands.

Here is a tiny victory in a much bigger battle. There was a tension I've been holding in me ever since this place opened that I didn't even know was there.
Ron DeSantis wasted $250 million on Alligator Alcatraz as it faces closure
A federal judge has ruled that the new Florida detention center must close within 60 days.

@futurebird every single time we make them take two months to do something they wanted to do in a week, that’s a win. That’s two months that they aren’t doing something else terrible. Every time we make them take a concentration camp apart and spend more money building another one, that’s a win.
It’s nowhere near enough, but I guarantee things would’ve gotten much worse much faster and hurt many more people by now if not for these little wins.

Surely that's too woke?

Thanks for these links. I don't know how I missed them in the article.Critical Response strategies appears to be a shell company, and is only 4 years old. Will Adkins, who seems to be in property development, is listed as the principle. But other people have been looking for who owns these companies. https://jaxtrib.org/2025/07/16/jacksonville-firm-with-78-million-alligator-alcatraz-contract-has-obscure-origins/ I don't know if this is the same Will Adkins. https://waterfrontgrp.com/

I couldn't find any photos of the owners or contact info like address or phone number on two of those sites.
I do hope to get their names out and that they get snubbed at least by some people.
