What are your "comfort reads" ?

For me it's Alastair Reynolds ... when he's doing the "cyber noir" thing. I'm reading "The Prefect" again and it's just such a nice escape. One of the major plot points is a very relatable bit about doing a system upgrade and the world ending because basically the wifi went down.

It's not a comedy at all. It's a detective thriller with cyber/sci-fi themes.

But it does have these moments that kind of make you chuckle because I just know Reynolds must have done tech support.

So he has this life and death version of it and it's a joy.
