Yeah there has always been sales and "greatest hits" type shit, but go back and look at how much they were charging for the NES and Super Mario Bros. 3 back when they came out. Then adjust them for inflation.

But I have a hard time backing up statements like this given that it costs nearly $20 to go to the movie theater and watch a 90 minute movie. If I can get 40-150 hours from a $70 game... That's really not that bad. I think we have been a little bit spoiled (that isn't to say that video game publishers aren't greedy corporations that over charge to increase their profit margins, of course they do and fuck them for it). -
