More cleaning up finds: What should I do with my late uncle's Kennedy assassination Life magazine (plus a few other magazines and special issue publications) collection?Probably both...
The thin paper covers on those old LIFE mags do not hold up well over time and the areas around the staples will be very weak. Be careful while you're handling them; speaking from experience, it's very easy to accidentally rip a cover off.

Anecdotally, my uncle was working in Detroit as a junior exec at GM in July 1967. One day on his drive home from work he saw a National Guard tank roll right over a civilian car with three Black guys in it. Blood and viscera everywhere. All told, there were 43 killed, 1000 injured, at least $100 mil in property damage in today's money.
Multiple versions of that would not surprise me.

Given the USA spends more (by some margin) on health per capita than any other country, the Q.The US spends twice as much per person on health care as Canada and the average life expectancy is about 3.5 years shorter. I'd call that a fail (for people who actually use the system, that is). But socialism!
